As far as the cross country runners: their diet is extremely high in carbs and oils and low in protein and saturated fat. Their diet is as much of an aging factor as their overtraining. Im my 20s I was a marathoner and felt 80; in my 60s I am a sprinter and feel 25 💪

I love Dr. Lustig's lectures and videos. He is brilliant 👏 and an expert in the evils of sugar and fructose, insulin, insulin resistance, ultra-processed carbohydrates, fats, metabolic syndrome and all its related diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, CVD, insulin resistance, dementia, immune diseases, kidney disease and cancer, and he says that all diseases start with Mitochondrial dysfunction at the level of liver cells, which cause a fatty-liver, which cause insulin-resistance which in turn leads to all the degenerative diseases mentioned above. Morals of society can make this job of raising kids harder or easier, think about it!! In a world that satan has all filled with lies and deception it just makes our job of raising kids much harder, there is a sickness out there that needs direction and purpose, God gives us that and Jesus offers us the path!! Praying to Jesus to guide us and give us the wisdom to see the darkness and shine a light on it to destroy it!

My mom wasn't an educated woman (from the country in the '20s), but she picked the info up somewhere...she taught it was important to have a yellow & green veggie every meal. We also had potatoes often. I feel she gave her kids a headstart in our health with food from our garden.

Thank you for sharing this. I share these types of conversations with my brothers who each have a lot of anger and sadness towards our parents (and for good reason) -- I worked through most of my trauma years ago... they didn't. Now that they have their own children and are riding the waves of marriage, work, life, etc. and are seeking healing without asking for healing. Conversations like these can be shared and received in non-intrusive, non-presumptuous, and explorative grounds. Again, thank you for posting such content.
